Back to Work

So, I go back to work tomorrow evening. I've been off since last Friday, due to my unfortunate attack. I called to PD tonight to see if anything new had arisen, and was told that the two officers involved hadn't had a chance to get together to discuss matters as of yet. The statement I gave on Sunday wasn't accessible to one of the officers... he had read it just prior to phoning me back. So, in all honesty, I am hopeful that things will work out fine, but the little voice in the back of my head isn't saying the same thing. What do I do if law enforcement doesn't meet the expectations of myself or my supporters? What if it gets swept under the rug? Do I speak to the newspapers? This isn't just about me here, this is a crime that must have consequences to match. Are we taking steps back in time?
