More Medical Bills

So, I received yet another bill from my hospital visit on 5/31. The bill for the physician that read my catscan was $708, the emergency room bill was $703, the professional fees were $534, and here's the best one, the catscan (there were 3 of them, one for the spine, one for the brain/head and one for the orbit around my eye) bill was $4,308.75! That's right! $4300 bones! WTF? Oh, and the ambulance ride was $599! You do the math, it makes me sick to my stomach! I did get a discount, as I am currently uninsured. They knocked off $831.86, which is very generous, but it really doesn't matter. Fortunately, the WI Dept. of Justice will be picking up the tab, as I was the victim of a crime. If I win a settlement in the future, I will have to pay them back. I recently watched Michael Moore's "Sicko", and am starting to think Canada, or France is looking like the place to go!
