Estelle Getty, a.k.a. 'Sophia Petrillo' has passed away at age 84 at her home in Los Angeles. I knew she had suffered from dementia for many years, including the last few seasons of the Golden Girls, but I honestly didn't believe she was that old. I guess, though, the Golden Girls has been off the air forever. That makes the other three up there too... Rue is 74 and Betty and Bea are 86. So sad for her family and friends. Rest in peace Sophia.
