Fireworks Cancelled?

That's right, 4th of July celebrations around the country have cancelled their fireworks shows due to lack of funding. One in Florida, which always had the largest display in the state, cancelled because they couldn't come up with the $70,000 to put on the show. So why don't they not spend so much and put on a smaller show? I'm not a huge fan of going to see the fireworks, but it's tradition in this country. What are the oil prices at now?
