Girl Fails GED; Father Arrested

A Fairfield man behind bars because his daughter hasn't passed her GED wants a judge to reconsider his sentence. A Butler County juvenile court judge sentenced Brian Gegner to six-months in jail. A court order required Gegner to make sure his daughter got her general equivalency diploma (GED). Brittany is now 18-years-old and her dad is being punished because she skipped school when she was 16-years-old. more here. This is absurd! There wouldn't be enough jail space if every parent was arrested because their kid didn't graduate. I dropped out when I was almost 18 (was only 3 credits short when my rebelious badass self decided I was over the school thing). I got my GED easily 12 years later, which means my Mom would've just sat a long ass jail sentence! I understand it's a parents resposibility to get the kids to school and make sure they are passing their classes. SHE'S NOT A KID ANYMORE! Outrageous!
